Our Story

The Jordan Sorenson Memorial Scholarship was established in 2015 by the Sorenson and Schroeder families as a memorial to Jordan Sorenson who passed away suddenly after his 25th birthday. Jordan graduated from Clintonville High School and had completed a degree in urban planning at UW-Oshkosh.

The scholarship is awarded annually to graduates of Clintonville High School. Jordan often joked that his plan was to be a lifetime student. By offering these scholarships, in a way he is!

The game was inspired by Jordan and his friends’ continued talk about their glorious football days at Clintonville High School and the need to have an alumni game. A foot race down a street in Bear Creek for a coveted position on the alumni team inspired the game, named after the guy who lost the race. To honor this vision (and "big talk"), and to annually benefit Clintonville's future alumnus with a scholarship, this game became part of an annual Clintonville Trucker Alumni Night.

With the covid pandemic, we were forced to find a new location for the game and with the aging of the alumni players, decided to switch things up and do a cornhole tournament rather than a football game to allow everyone to participate. The change was so successful that we decided to make it the new tradition. A tradition we know Jordan would approve of!
